The WebGLRenderingContext.getUniformLocation() method of the WebGL API returns a WebGLUniformLocation of a uniform variable in a given WebGLProgram.
Syntax
WebGLUniformLocation gl.getUniformLocation(program, name);
Parameters

WebGLProgramcontaining the uniform variable. - name

DOMStringspecifying the name of the uniform variable whose location to get.
Return value
A WebGLUniformLocation object indicating the location of the variable name if found. Returns null otherwise.
