This API is available on Firefox OS for privileged or certified applications only.

Summary

This method is used to resume the preview stream.

The camera MediaStream is stopped each time the CameraControl.takePicture() method is called successfully, therefore you need to use resumePreview() to restart the stream.

Syntax

CameraControl.resumePreview();

Parameters

None.

Example

This example captures still photos, resuming the preview stream after each is taken. The user triggers the capture by tapping anywhere in the document.

var myCamera = null;
var picSize  = null;
var options  = {
  camera: navigator.mozCameras.getListOfCameras()[0]
};
function onPictureTaken( blob ) {
  myCamera.resumePreview();
  // Do something with the binary blob image
};

function onAccessCamera( camera ) {
  myCamera = camera;
  picSize  = camera.capabilities.previewSizes[0];

  camera.getPreviewStream(picSize, onStreamReady);
};

navigator.mozCameras.getCamera(options, onAccessCamera);
function getImage() {
  if (myCamera) {
    myCamera.takePicture(picSize, onPictureTaken)
  }
};
document.addEventListener('click', getImage);

Specification

Not part of any specification; however, this API should be removed when the WebRTC Capture and Stream API has been implemented.
