Identity integration for apps

Mozilla's open solution for user identity, BrowserID (part of Mozilla Persona), is used in several ways in the apps ecosystem, most of which require no action from app developers (other than logging in to the Firefox Marketplace).

  • The Firefox Marketplace uses BrowserID to authenticate app developers and users. See Submitting an app.
  • Authenticating app users to the app sync process (Apps in the Cloud) is invisible to users.
  • Authenticating app users in general is the same as authenticating users of a website. See the Persona documentation, and in particular the Quick Setup guide.
